The Sea of Monsters is the second book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series. It is yet another Greek mythology and fantasy book that follows Percy’s second year at camp half-blood; a place for those who are half-human and half god. When Percy arrives at camp, he realizes there are bigger problems than the cannibal giants he has just encountered at school. The border at camp which keeps the monsters out is broken and his friend Grover is in trouble. He must find the golden fleece, a magical fleece with healing abilities, to save the border. He must also stop his new enemy from raising a big threat to Olympus and the rest of the world. This book is truly amazing. I love the new elements added to this series with the Sea of Monsters. The characters are well developed and give dimension to the story. The plot is also unexpected and always captivating. It is a must for anyone who enjoys adventure and fantasy. - Nevaeh, 13, SAPL Read It & Review Contributor
