But when Griffin meets a woman with a case that Holmes has turned away for being too ridiculous, he and his uncle team up to help her. Along the way, Griffin shows his uncle just what it means to have true faith in God, even when the case challenges that. The woman claims that her husband was eaten by the Loch Ness Monster, but monsters aren't real-or are they?

This fascinating story is likely to keep 10 + genuinely interested in the plot. While aimed for a young audience, this author is compelling enough and the plot is thought out enough that it kept me reading happily.
I love how Griffin's faith in God is a natural part of who he is. It isn't a book written to shove you at's a book written about this boy's adventures , which include the God who helps him and is there in all the mysterious mayhem and with the hard-to-like uncle.
The chapters are surprisingly short, but that's not a huge problem. :) The story is still well-told.
On a questionable note, I was surprised at violence in the last few chapters, which includes knives and blood. It's not terrible, it even goes to make the story seem more realistic. It just surprised me because it isn't something I'd necesssarily recommend all 10ish-year-olds reading. Four and a Half Stars.
